Something along the lines of Magnus the Pious' great war against Chaos (Kislev needed though) or other old world centric fluff maybe (with the eventual combined 3 games/ME 2. and yes, I'd pay a reasonable fee even for it as a DLC. I think CA missed the boat re implementing an old world campaign into the combined WH1 and 2/ME mash up tbh.
I get that the Vortex campaign showcased the new world factions and had to be the WH2 base game until ME was released but going back to WH1 and it's lack of updated mechanics isn't an option either, whether played for old world flavour or better performance without those turn end times and overpowering number of factions. Mortal Empires is a big commitment which can potentially take hundreds of turns (patches as well as mods like the Turn-Time Destroyer and Faster End Turn Camera have sped those turns up. That's a lot of wasted time and performance in many folks experience. The likelihood of a new or old world faction having much to do with or even dominating the opposite in ME isn't always (if ever, in the case of some factions) high. Improvments: Agents are now always considered "deployed".so no more senseless extra button clicking Additionally, an army of 10 units will be located near your settlement. They control 3 settlements - one being a part of your starting province, and to on the mainland. You first enemy will be a faction of the Lizardmen - Sentinels of Xeti. Only now, when the hour is darkest, does the light of the Lumineth shine forth. Teclis begins the game as the ruler of the Turtle Island at the southern coast of Lustria. Nagash has brought a ghastly era of hauntings upon the Mortal Realms, for the power of death is on the ascendant. Were playing on Mortal Empires, the combined campaign map for Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2. In order to be able to develop this technology, you will have to build Shrine of Asuryan (an advanced military building). (including the faction of Teclis - the other Legendary Lord of the High Elves).
When your army is ready, head out to fight the Caledor. So with WH1 + WH2 you get Vortex.and Mortal Empires. Archmage Teclis leads his Lumineth hosts against the Great Necromancer in a battle to save the realms. This is a campaign lets play for Grombrindal the White Dwarf and a legendary lord of the Dwarfs. Seizing the Kowadla Vaula quickly is essential in the Lothern campaign. Sadly so as it would help with the turn timer and I never really visit Lustria or the stinking elves as an Old World faction (well maybe as Brettonia/Norsca). In the Total War: Warhammer series, the combined campaign, which sees you able to play all the factions from the previous games as well as new ones and DLC, is one of the most popular game modes.
